While the universally distinctive and award-winning shape of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage is retained, the car benefits from a number of technical changes which include significantly up-rated engine performance from a new 4.7 litre power unit in both Coupe and Roadster variants. Other changes include revised dynamics to take full advantage of increased power and torque availability.

The Vantage roadster is powered by a 4.3-liter V-8 that produces 380 hp. That's a comparatively modest figure, but you forget about that when you push it past the 4000-rpm mark and hear the sharp exhaust bark that is reminiscent of a Lamborghini Gallardo's. A six-speed manual and a SportShift automated manual transmission are available; both are exceedingly capable, but we prefer the SportShift with its column-mounted paddles.

Improvements in performance have been achieved through a number of carefully developed changes to Aston Martin’s acclaimed V8 engine. The cylinder bore and stroke has been increased from 89mm to 91mm and 86mm to 91mm respectively, giving a total displacement of 4735cc. The increase in cylinder bore is facilitated by a move to cylinder liners that are pressed into the pre-machined aluminium alloy

In a comparison test between the 2008 Aston Martin DBS and 2008 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano in the July 2008 issue of Automobile Magazine, we gave the nod to the car from Maranello but the purity and gruffness of the English car left a lasting impression. But, at $266,350, the top spec Aston is a true exotic. The entry-level car, the V8 Vantage, is gorgeous and sounds fantastic but we've always felt let down by the lack of power provided by the Jaguar-derived 4.3-liter V-8. With the buzz from the DBS experience still fresh in our heads, we hopped on a plane to Germany for a drive in the tweaked for 2009 Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

2011 Upcoming Cars BMW Z8 With Specification And Prices

2011 Upcoming Cars BMW Z8 With Specification And Prices With Reviews and Images

Several magazines have been reporting that the somewhat loved BMW Z8 will make another go at it in 2010. The latest rag to make this claim is Automobile Magazine which is usually a very credible source for such matters. The last Z8 (pictured above) bowed out in 2003 just a few years after it debuted. Most critics have attribute the lack luster sales and underwhelming success to the Z8's looks and not it's $100,000 plus price tag.

BMW doesn't want to repeat the mistakes it made with the first Z8 so they better get the looks right if they are looking to compete directly with the Mercedes SL class. If it goes to production you could expect to see the new BMW Z8 by 2010 priced between $100,000 and $125,000.
